Research Interests:

I am the geneticist associated with the Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer Clinics, Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre. My work in these Clinics has resulted in the establishment of British Columbia and Canada-wide clinical genetic/genetic epidemiological databases which are relatively unbiased with respect to genetic factors and are representative of the general population of individuals with these disorders. These databases are used for clinical genetic, genetic epidemiological and molecular genetic research. The results of the research are clinically applicable, eg. genetic and reproductive counselling as well as provide insights into the biology and natural history of these common, complex disorders.
